Padma Shri Dr. Brahmanandam Kanneganti was born 1 February 1956 and he is a popular comedian-actor in Telugu Cinema. He is considered as one of the greatest comedy actors in Telugu cinema. He has also entered the Guinness World Records. He has been accoladed with many awards including the Nandi Award.

Background

Padma Shri Dr. Brahmanandam Kanneganti was born on 1 February 1956 in Andhra Pradesh, India. Prior to films, he was a Telugu lecturer in the town of Attili, a town in West Godavari district in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

He began his film career with popular Telugu director and writer, Jandhyala's Aha Naa Pellanta in which Rajendra Prasad played the lead role. This movie has since become a cult classic among Telugu comedy films. Owing to his comic abilities and impeccable expressions, he is one of the most respected comedians in the history of Tollywood. Nowadays, he is a versatile with comedian roles in Tamil movies as well, such as in Ghilli, Mozhi, Kuselan and Sathyam. Audiences and critics have enjoyed his comedy characters in recent Telugu movies such as Krishna,King, Ready, Adurs, Namo Venkatesha etc. According to him, Jandhyala, EVV and S.V.Krishna Reddy were the best comedy directors he has ever worked with. He is presently writing a book based on his experiences in the film industry. His dialogue 'thakita thakita 2-4-6' is very much funny in his recent movie 'King'. He coined a new word "jafa" which he uses to scold others. His nee yankamma dialogue is also very popular.He is one of the best comedians telugu cinema has ever produced and the main credit goes to director jandhyala

Family

He is married to Lakshmi and has two sons, Raja Goutham and Siddharth. His eldest, Raja Goutham debuted through 'Pallakilo Pellikooturu', a Telugu film. Goutham will be soon seen in another film named 'Vareva' with Sambhavi of MTV Roadies 5.0 fame, as his heroine.
